Why AT&T?
On an average day, the AT&T network handles more than 675 terabytes of data. That’s 34 times the content of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Their frame relay network transmits a million CDs worth of information across the nation every day - that same frame relay network regularly achieves a 99.99% performance rating.
In the US, AT&T has more than 53,000 in ground route-miles of fiber (enough to circle the globe twice) – with an additional 16,500 miles of our new next-generation fiber deployment due to be completed by year-end 2001. AT&T's was the first coast-to-coast OC192 IP backbone, transmitting data at 10 Gbps speeds – fast enough to transmit 25 feature films simultaneously.
AT&T has been recognized in the industry as the #1 Regional/National Frame Relay Network, #1 in ATM Services and #1 in Private Line Services. AT&T IP-Enabled ATM Service won “Product of the Year” from Network Magazine. AT&T was the first to deliver Frame Relay-to-ATM Service Interworking. They not only introduced the award-winning IP-Enabled ATM, but their IP-Enabled Frame Relay Service was the first MPLS-based product in the US. (Multi-Protocol Label Switching, or MPLS, was developed to deliver Class-of-Service (CoS) capabilities over IP networks – and is proving to be a valuable security feature for VPNs.)
AT&T is the first service provider to offer dynamic bandwidth allocation capability for integrated voice and data, as well as scalability to match your growth in the future. Please choose the link on the left to find out more information about some of the many services that AT&T provides.
